Emulsion Paint is water based paint and have more durability compared to distemper paint. Distempers are a more conservative form of paint and have lesser durability compared to emulsions.

It’s totally dependent on wear and tear. Generally, the frequency of painting can range from 3 – 8 years.

In case of interior, the walls of the kitchen area, kids’ rooms and washrooms tend to get dirty faster compared to other areas like  bedrooms and living areas.

In case of exteriors the life of paints depends on the level of exposure to the elements like Sun, Rain, Moisture etc.

Putties and primers both are the foundation for any topcoat.

Generally, exterior walls are exposed to sunlight, rain and dust which need washing before painting. You can use a scraper or abrasive paper to remove the loose or old paint.  For Interior walls you can wash it with oil, grease or wax stains. Before paint kindly ensure that the walls are dry completely.

Its totally depends on the walls which you wants to paint for example whether it is  Interior or Exterior. It also depends on the surface for that you can opt wall paints like Cement paint, Distempers, Enamels or Emulsions. Wall paints can be selected based on your requirement of finish, features, and budget.

Distempers and Emulsions both are used for internal walls. Emulsions offer a better finish and longevity as compared to distempers.
